This basil variety which is native of Naples has a large and intensely aromatic and flavoursome blistered leaf.  It has many uses including in pizza, soup, dressings and sauces such as pesto.  You will also commonly see it mixed with tomato in bruschetta recipes or used as a mini wrap with a cheese and tomato filling.
